Coalition for a New Dallas
2021 Candidate Endorsements
These candidates endorse tearing down I-345 and demonstrate the leadership our city needs.
This year, we asked City Council candidates a series of questions on parking reform, zoning, economic development, and suggested transit priorities for the city. We thank all the candidates for taking the time to provide their perspectives and expressing their vision for Dallas; their responses will help guide the Coalition’s work and priorities in the near and long term future.
The first question truly gauges their endorsement of the Coalition’s work to date, and determines whether those seeking office are willing to take informed, radical action to reconnect our neighborhoods, put an end to the legacy of racism in how our city is designed, and seize opportunities for major economic rejuvenation in the city’s core:
Do you support removing I-345 and replacing it with a mixed-use, mixed-income neighborhood that restores the community grid and reconnects East and South Dallas?
The candidates listed below said “Yes” and have demonstrated to the Coalition that they are the type of leaders our city needs at this critical moment. We urge you to consider them first as you make your choices in the May 1st election.
